We bought this beam for our 7 year old daughter who started to compete in Level 4. She had been struggling with her beam routine at the latest meets and would fall off the beam. Although she practices regularly at her gymnastics training center, we thought that having a beam at home would complement her training. Once ordered, we quickly received the beam; this is a great quality product for the price! Our daughter loved it right away: it is light enough for her to take the beam out, even for just a 15-minute daily practice, and it is long enough to practice easily all the skills. We could definitely see the improvement in our daughter's confidence on the balance beam, and, a month after receiving this great product, we can say that it paid off: our daughter got a first place at the NorCal State Meet at the beam, which was the key factor to her First Place All Around (search for Fiona Stemmelin on YouTube).
